Banh Mi Dc Sandwich

Overview

Looking for a unique twist on a classic dish? The Banh Mi DC Sandwich is a must-try for anyone in Falls Church, VA, especially if you're in the mood for bold flavors and satisfying bites. Located at 3103C Graham Rd, this place offers an authentic take on the Vietnamese sandwich, blending fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of textures that will leave you craving more.

The first thing that stands out at this diner is the quality of the ingredients. They don’t just throw together a sandwich and call it a day; the Banh Mi DC Sandwich takes pride in using fresh, local vegetables, herbs, and premium proteins. The crispy baguette is always toasted just right, offering the perfect crunch without being overly hard, a key element for any good Banh Mi. As you bite into it, the first thing you’ll notice is the mix of textures. The crispy exterior of the bread pairs beautifully with the tender fillings and crunchy veggies inside, creating an irresistible bite every time.

What truly sets this spot apart is its dedication to both flavor and authenticity. From the first bite, you can taste the layers of well-marinated pork, grilled chicken, or tofu, paired with fresh cilantro, pickled carrots, daikon radish, and a touch of spicy jalapeños. It’s not just the ingredients that make this sandwich special-it’s the perfect balance of flavors that makes it shine. The heat from the peppers is balanced by the sweet pickled vegetables, and the creamy mayo rounds it all out, creating a harmony that’s hard to beat.

Whether you’re a fan of classic proteins like grilled pork or are leaning toward the more adventurous tofu option, the Banh Mi DC Sandwich offers something for everyone. The crispy pork belly is a favorite among regulars, but there’s no wrong choice here. The tofu is grilled to perfection, giving it a satisfying char without losing that melt-in-your-mouth texture. If you're in the mood for a twist on the classic, you can always ask for extra toppings like extra cilantro or a little more of that spicy jalapeño kick.

One of the things that stand out in the reviews for the Banh Mi DC Sandwich is the consistently high quality of service. The staff is welcoming and friendly, always willing to offer suggestions if you're unsure of what to try. Plus, the cozy yet casual atmosphere makes it a great place to grab a quick bite or settle in for a more leisurely meal.

For those looking for variety, the menu doesn’t disappoint. You can find other Vietnamese-inspired dishes like pho and rice bowls alongside their Banh Mi offerings. While the focus remains on their sandwiches, the other items on the menu hold their own and deserve a try. The pho, for example, is rich and flavorful, with broth that’s been simmered to perfection for hours. It’s the kind of dish that leaves you feeling satisfied but not overly full, striking the right balance for any meal.

Had the grilled pork bahn mi and a custard bun this time - it was fantastic. The custard bun was massive and wonderfully fluffy. The bahn mi was delicious and packed with pork. Overall, a stellar spot for excellent value, super fast service, and great flavor. Lots to try here, so I'll definitely be back - with cash (preferred) next time!

Ordered a combo and grilled pork banh mi for takeaway along with some summer rolls. Both sandwiches were delicious but the grilled pork one was a standout. As for the rolls they were below average in my opinion and not something I’d purchase again. I would make a return visit though to see what their other sandwiches are like.

The Banh Mi sandwich i got was great! Lots of meat and good size for the price.

Very very very good banh mi. Some of the best I’ve had. Bread is soft, crunchy and chewy. Meats are well seasoned. Would definitely recommend

I had banh mi for lunch at just $7.25. The bread was light and crispy, and the filling had a distinctly local flavor—though the meat did taste a bit like canned meat. That might not be for everyone, but I actually enjoyed the authentic feel of it.

Best banh mi in the area. I always get their grilled pork and it’s great. Also very cheap (less than $8 for grilled pork sandwich). This is a no frills spot: order your sandwich, receive a piece of paper with your ticket #, wait for it to get called, and leave with your sandwich. Great for a quick lunch and healthier than traditional American fast food spots.

This is a basically a market and not about atmosphere at all. The sandwiches are amazing and they make the bread fresh everyday on site. It's also amazingly inexpensive. Great vegetarian options. You'd need to ask for no mayo if going for full vegan. Service is always very quick and accurate. Don't come expecting there to be seats. This is where you get the best ban mi to eat in your car or at home.

Hands down one of the best place for banh mi! Eggrolls, pate chauds, banh tieu and the assorted viet desserts were delicious as well. Fast service! 10 sandwiches in under 10 minutes! Customer service is ok depending on who is behind the counter. Not a deal breaker as long as the food is good! The place could use some updating and no seating area. Grab your food and go!
